If thats true than we should be able to recreate that same effect by filming the sun with our cameras. Either way they saw it with their own eyes first and then chose to record it. So it is either a hoax or real, I highly doubt its the camera causing this.

That is the sensors in the digital camera being overloaded by the brightness of the sun.
i was wondering that too, or if it was some kind of AI thing programmed to do that when camera is focused on the sun.
Yeah adding a black dot it in post is more likely than a camera malfunction.
